POTSDAM - National Grid crews are still working to restore power to approximately 1,000 customers in St. Lawrence and Franklin counties after high winds and a thunderstorm moved through the region at the 6 p.m. hour Friday.
National Grid reported Sunday morning they still had 291 outages and 2,213 customers without power in upstate New York, and customers from St. Lawrence and Franklin counties accounted for nearly half of those without power. The National Grid report said there were 647 customers in Franklin County, 435 customers in St. Lawrence County and 682 customers in Erie County in the Buffalo without power Sunday morning.
Eleven outages still had 122 customers without power in the Norwood area, four outages in the Colton area were impacting 48 customers, five outages in the West Stockholm area left 39 customers in the dark overnight and a handful of outages in the Waddington-Chase Mills area had 36 customers with no power.
National Grid said it expects to have power restored to most of its customers in St. Lawrence County by late Sunday afternoon.
