Janis E. Parks, 72, Swan Rd., Belleville, passed away Sunday morning, July 21st at the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

The funeral will be 11 am Wednesday, July 24th at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with Rev. Jane Eastham officiating. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery, Belleville. Calling hours are Tuesday, July 23rd from 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm at the funeral home. Members of the Order of the Eastern Star Belleville Eudora Chapter # 136 will conduct a memorial service on Tuesday, July 23rd at 8 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Belleville First Responders and Volunteer Fire Department or to the Belleville O.E.S.

Janis was born in Belleville, July 12, 1941, a daughter to George D. and Ruth S. Fulton Brown. She graduated from Belleville Central School in 1959. Janis married Robert M. Parks July 25th, 1959 in Belleville. Janis was a homemaker and provided child care for many years.

She was a member of the O.E.S. Belleville Eudora Chapter #136 and an original member of TOPS. She was a doll collector and enjoyed painting ceramics, cooking and baking.

Janis is survived by her husband Robert, Belleville. Two daughters and a son-in-law, Julie and Donald Purdy, Cohoes, NY and Jennifer Castle, Belleville. Grandchildren Jonathan and Colleen Purdy and Maegan Castle. Her sister, Cynthia Barney, Clearwater, FL. Several nieces and nephews. A sister Rena Richardson predeceased her.
