College lacrosse: Ex-SU star Pike gets promotion at St. Lawrence

CANTON — Former General Brown and Syracuse University athlete Ashley Pike has been named to the position of assistant coordinator of student-athlete development at St. Lawrence University.

Pike, who will continue to serve as an assistant coach on the women’s lacrosse team, will work alongside Franco Bari to help strengthen the Student-Athlete Development Program and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

“Ashley has been an outstanding member of our department for several years, and I am confident she will do a tremendous job in this new role,” SLU Athletic Director Margie Strait said.

Pike, a 2007 graduate of Syracuse and a native of Watertown, joined the Saints’ women’s lacrosse coaching staff for the 2010 campaign. She was a standout player for the Orange, including making third-team All-America as a senior. Pike served as a volunteer assistant at Syracuse before her arrival at St. Lawrence.
