Carol A. Manzi


Carol Ames Manzi, 80 of Millbrook, died at her residence on Monday, July 22, 2013. Born in Watertown, NY of December 11, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Irene Fuller Ames. Carol graduated from Watertown High School, Class of 1950 and began her career as a telephone operator with New York Telephone Co. from 1950 until she retired as the night supervisor in Carmel, NY. Carol was a memebr of Pioneer Club of America.

On October 9, 1965 at St. Joseph’s Church in Millbrook, she married Nazarene Manzi, Jr. She loved solitaire, crossword puzzles and reading, and having family visits with Naz in her home.

Carol is survived by 2 sisters, Shirley Ames Ewing and her husband Dell of Vienna, VA., and Marilyn Ames Morrison and her husband S. Richard of Watertown; her brother Charles Ames and his wife Mary of Watertown; sisters-in-law, Filomena Manzi and Aline Manzi of Millbrook; many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews; her dear friend Millie France of Millbrook. She was predeceased by her brothers, Richard, Robert, and Walter Ames, and sisters, Beverly Ames Gregory, Connie Ames Higgins, and Joyce Ames. Funeral services will be private and interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Millbrook.

Memorial donations may be made in Carol’s memory to Emmanuel Church, 119 S. Hamilton St., Watertown, NY 13601 or St. Joseph’s Church, P.O. Box 439, Millbrook, NY 12545.
