Hosmer’s, Howie’s stage Ogdensburg Women’s Softball playoff wins

No. 1 seeded Hosmer’s Marina and No. 2 seed Howie’s advanced on Wednesday in Ogdensburg Women’s Softball playoff action as the playoffs continued its double-elimination march towards a August 7 championship tilt.

Howie’s won a 9-5 decision over third seeded Nig’s Tavern 9-5 as Alyssa Farrell smacked a high-impact triple, Nikki Renee laced two singles and Shannon LaFave smacked a double in timely fashion.

Nicole Sharpe, Courtney McDonald, Chelsey Martin, Jessica Denoncourt, Mackenzie Stevenson and Renee Lahue all produced a hit.

Brittany Kenyon stroked a double and a single for Nig’s Tavern and Liza LaRock and Austie Claxton each added a double.

Hosmer’s 14, Buster’s 3: Eliza Pierce smacked a homerun and a triple, Andrea Duvall stroked a pair of doubles and a single, Jordan Havens and Jill Havens each connected for a double an three singles and Jen Dashnaw added three singles leading Hosmer’s. Taylor Jordan, Chelsea Bice each had two hits. Jackie Sullivan, Katie O’Connor, Cheyenne Martin and Amanda Barr each singled once.

Ashley Baker smacked a homerun and a single for Buster’s. Kelsey Bedford, Emily Mitchell, Barb Miller and Kaylee Bedford each singled.


Monday: Buster’s vs. DaVinci’s (Champlain), The Place vs. Nig’s (Madill).

Wednesday: Hosmer’s vs. Howies (Champlain), Winner of Buster’s/DaVinci’s vs. The Place/Nig’s (Madill).
