LISBON – Donna D. McBath is running unopposed for town clerk and says she hopes to continue serving the people of Lisbon.
At the end of her fifth two-year term, Mrs. McBath said her position with the town sees her do it all.
Mrs. McBath said she is responsible for dog licenses, marriage licenses, sporting licenses, birth and death registrations, handicapped parking permits and collecting town taxes. Moreover Mrs. McBath acts as secretary to the town council, recording minutes and helping residents communicate with them.

Mrs. McBath said she first got involved as town clerk in the early 2000s because she enjoyed working with people.
But since then the job has changed substantially as the amount of work has slowly piled up.
The first summer I was here I was bored, she said. It was so quiet.
Now Mrs. McBath said she has much more paperwork on a daily basis, which she thinks is a good sign.
I love what Im doing and I want to keep doing it, she said. I like working for and with the people of Lisbon.
Mrs. McBath said she has been getting the word out about her campaign for re-election primarily by word of mouth. Mrs. McBath said she has been too busy to actually get out and campaign much, but she is always interacting with community members thanks to her role as town clerk.
The general election is Nov. 5.
