Police say woman made threats with a hammer

LAFARGEVILLE — A Watertown woman was charged Friday with threatening a woman with a hammer and damaging the victim’s vehicle.

Sabrina C. Navarette, 20, of 202 William St., was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.

It is alleged that at about noon she threatened to strike Christina M. Woodward with a hammer at 35256 County Route 15, town of Orleans. The incident allegedly occurred in the presence of a 14-year-old child. Police also said Miss Navarette admitted that she broke the rear window of Miss Woodward’s 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe by striking it with a chunk of wood.

Miss Navarette was arraigned in Theresa Town Court and sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $500 bail. She is to answer the charges in Orleans Town Court.
