Madeline B. Weldon, wife of William Bill Weldon, and mother of 13 Children, passed away on July 17, 2013 at the age of 90. Madeline was born in 1923 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to German immigrant parents. She graduated from The College of New Rochelle(NY) in 1944 and married Bill Weldon that same year. She later received her Masters of Education degree from Temple University in 1969 and taught German and English in the Philadelphia Public Schools. In 1973, Madeline and Bill moved to Watertown, New York with 7 of their 13 children where she taught high school English at Immaculate Heart Central High School. In 1980 they moved to Tucson, Arizona where they lived for 6 years. They retired in the San Francisco Bay Area where they made their home for 25 years. Madeline passed away in Oakton, Virginia at the home of her grandson and his family where she resided for the past two years. She is predeceased by her husband Bill, who passed away in 2005, as well as her daughter Marguerite Meg in 1984. Madeline is survived by 12 children, 32 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. John Neumann Church in Reston, Virginia on Saturday, September 14th, 10:30 a.m. At a later date, Madelines ashes will be interred alongside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery.
