CANTON — Bobbie Jo Zeller, 36, of 72 W. Main St., Apt. 4, Norfolk, was in St. Lawrence County Supreme Court Tuesday arguing that she has been held in St. Lawrence County Jail at an excessive bail amount of $300,000 cash or $600,000 bond, preventing her from the opportunity to be released.

Ms. Zeller, who is awaiting trial in her connection to allegedly scheming to defraud a retired Roman Catholic priest and his parishioners from the fall of 2010 until January of this year, was denied a change in her bail by Supreme Court Justice David R. Demarest.

Judge Demarest said Ms. Zeller’s previous felony convictions, past issued bench warrants and her having tobe extradited from Texas, were all evidence enough that she was a flight risk.

Ms. Zeller was returned to St. Lawrence county jail where she has been held since May 2.
