POTSDAM - CJ’s-Chip’s Place blanked Massena Savings and Loan 3-0 in North Country Men’s Summer Soccer action from the SUNY Potsdam turf field on Sunday.

In the other Sunday matchups, Hoot Owl-North Country Savings and Loan dropped SeaComm 7-0 while Lisbon’s St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union edged S&L Electric 2-1.

CJ’s-CP had already clinched the top seed for the upcoming playoffs prior to Sunday night’s game and improved to 11-1 atop the Division I standings heading into its regular season final this Wednesday at home against S&L Electric. The Potsdam-based contingent enters the post-season as defending champion. The playoffs are slated to kick-off this Sunday with four quarter-final games. The other make-up game on Wednesday will determine the order of the other seven seeds as CKON-Signs and Stitches plays host to St. Lawrence FCU at the Salmon River Central field.

SLFCU 2, S&L Electric 1: Eric Mehaffy scored one goal and helped set up the other by Shaun Murray. Kaleb Bertrand notched the assist on Mehaffy’s goal.

Colton S&L Electric’s goal was scored by Scott Boyce, unassisted.

Hoot Owl-NCSB 7, SeaComm 0: Travis Jordan fashioned a hat trick for Canton and Colby Young, Tyler Gallagher, Ben Harloe and Ryan Kocher netted singletons. Tom Alzo and Jack Gardner made two saves apiece splitting crease duties.

Jordan Kendall and Mike Morgan made a combined six saves working the SeaComm crease.

CJ’s-Chip’s Place 3, Massena S&L 0: Willi Steinrotter and Tony Betrus each tallied one goal and one assist while Mark Misiak converted on an assist by Grant Sharlow for CJ’s/Chips Place. Ben Steinberg had six saves in the shutout. Al Davis made 10 saves for Massena S&L.

STANDINGS

Division I: CJ’s-Chip’s Place 11-1-0 (33 points), Pepsi-The Place 8-5-0 (24 points), Hoot Owl-NCSB 6-4-2 (20), SLFCU 3-7-2 (11 points), CKON-Signs and Stitches 1-7-3 (6 points).

Division II: Frary Funeral Home 8-3-2 (26 points), Massena S&L 6-4-3 (21 points), S&L Electric (5-4-3 (18 points), AMP-Jreck Subs 3-7-2 (12 points), SeaComm 1-9-2 (5 points).
