Inn owners set benefit for Black River native

HERRINGS — Little Sisters Inn, 35802 Route 3, is organizing a weekend-long benefit for Black River native Andrea L. Leddy.

Ms. Leddy was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at the end of June and has since lost her job in Ohio. Her uninsured expenses will run around $6,000 a month.

The benefit will begin Thursday with a pool tournament at 7 p.m. A karaoke warm-up party will be held that evening.

On Friday evening, local band R-19 will perform beginning at 9:30 p.m.

There will also be a best beach attire contest.

Saturday will feature a poker tournament at 3 p.m., and that evening there will be a karaoke contest, American Idol style — participants will be voted off. The event will feature a celebrity judge panel, including Tasha Williams from the band Top Secret.

Ongoing throughout the weekend will be a 50/50 raffle and Chinese auction with drawings Saturday evening at 10 p.m. Entrants do not have to be present to win.

To register for any contest, call the inn at 519-1280.
