SYRACUSE — Kirk Ventiquattro’s Central team, featuring six Frontier League players, suffered a 10-6 loss to Long Island in the semifinals of the Empire State Cup Lacrosse Tournament on Saturday at Onondaga Community College.

Central will play the Western team in today’s bronze medal game at 11 a.m. in the same location.

Long Island will play New York City in the gold medal game to follow.

Central advanced to the semifinals earlier in the day with a 10-4 victory over Adirondack.

Ryan Cook of Cazenovia led the way in both games for Central, providing a goal and an assist in the first game and four goals in the second.

He is leading the tournament in goals (12) and assists (7).
