Little Theatre of Watertown seeks eight performers for its upcoming production of Those Crazy Ladies in the House on the Corner by Pat Cook.
Auditions for the family comedy will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, and Tuesday, Aug. 20 at the Black River Valley Club, 131 Washington St.
A synopsis of the play provided by Little Theatre: What do you do when you have three geriatric sisters as patients and all they want to do is sit at home and talk to one another all at the same time? You move another person in with them. That is what Doc Lomax does when he has a new nurse (who has a secret) needing a place to live. The hard part is convincing the sisters they need a roomer.
The roles being sought are for Dora Miller, a woman who usually has things her own way; Maggie Brown, slightly forgetful; Lydia Van Horn, who keeps the household running; Dr. Arnold Lomax, something of a small-town conniver; Jean Mitchell, a clever woman in some ways but na´ve in others; Calvin Murphy, an out-going man; Phillip Van Horn, who is business-oriented and Jessie, who is down to earth and intelligent.
Show dates for Those Crazy Ladies in the House on the Corner are Oct. 10 to 13 and Oct. 17 to 19 at the Black River Valley Club.
Daniel J. Allington will direct the play.
