Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies, Fort Drum police ask for public’s help to find missing soldier


The Jefferson County sheriff’s office and Fort Drum Police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing soldier from the post.

The sheriff’s office said Thomas C. Rainey, 22, of Ore Bed Road, Antwerp, was last seen on post at some point during the day on July 21. His family, based in Michigan, reported him missing on July 25.

Mr. Rainey was listed at 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a weight of 195 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

The office said Mr. Rainey is driving a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro with a New York plate that reads GBR6618.

Those with information about Mr. Rainey or his vehicle are asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 315-786-2601 and reference file 13S013227, or use the department’s anonymous tip site, which can be found at
