Charles W. Locke Jr.


Watertown — Charles W. Locke, Jr., 62, Northland Estates, passed away Tuesday evening at his home, surrounded by his family and under the care of his caregiver Donna Vout and Hospice of Jefferson County.

The funeral will be 10 am Saturday, August 10th, 2013 at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Leon “Toby” Schilling officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Rodman. Calling hours are Friday, August 9th from 2 pm - 4 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northern New York Renal Center, 22571 Summit Dr., or to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., both of Watertown, NY 13601.

Chuck was born December 30, 1950 in Watertown, a son to Charles and Ann Beyette Locke, Sr. He graduated from Watertown High School, and served with the US Navy in the late 1960’s. Following an honorable discharge, Chuck worked as a mechanic and service manager for several Watertown car dealerships to include Quick Motors, Carriage House Motors, Greenwood Buick and Bill Rapp Pontiac, retiring due to ill health.

Chuck was a member of the Watertown Eagles Club, serving as past president and trustee for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling in the Highmarket area in previous years.

He is survived by a son Charles Locke III, Montana. A daughter Wendy (Jody) Webert, Lowville. Two grandchildren, Hannah and Benjamin. A sister Ruth (Steve) Sullivan, Watertown. Nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Amanda, May 4, 2007 and his brother Fred Locke, Sr. on December 23, 2011.
