MORRISTOWN - A favorite Canadian chain restaurant is branching out in St. Lawrence County.
Tim Hortons is opening at the Parkway Express on Route 37 later this month.
Michael T. Webster, Parkways director of operations, said the plan is to open the store on Aug. 28 in advance of the Labor Day weekend.
The store is located just outside the village, near the English Settlement Road.
Mr. Webster said he hopes the new location will give travelers and Morristown residents a good option for coffee and baked goods.
Everybody seems excited about it, store manager Brent E. Mann said.
A Subway is located at the store as well.
The Parkways Tim Hortons wont have a drive through or make breakfast or lunch foods, Mr. Webster said, but it will serve coffee, donuts and baked goods.
Mr. Webster said the store will have all the typical Tim Hortons drink options, including lattes and other hot and cold beverages.
The store will also be looking to hire roughly six people, Mr. Webster said.
Well start interviewing at the end of next week, he said.
Anyone looking to work at the new location can apply online at www.parkwayxpress.com, Mr. Webster said.
There are more than 3,300 Tim Hortons locations in Canada and more than 700 in the United States. The Morristown location is the second to be established along Route 37 in the last year. The first opened in December at the Parkway Express at the corner of Route 37 and Champlain Street, Ogdensburg.
