My wife recently went to a local drug store to receive a shingles vaccination that had been recommended by her doctor.
The drug store told her it would cost in excess of $200 and that it was not covered by her insurance.
Knowing that the Affordable Health Care Act (ObamaCare) stipulates that preventive medicine must be covered by ones health insurance, I called our insurance to inquire.
I was told that she was covered.
We went to another pharmacy located in a grocery store.
The price was lower.
And although we had to pay the $199 upfront, our insurance company will reimburse us.
The point to this is that everyone needs to advocate for themselves.
Get the facts for yourself.
Since the advent of ObamaCare, we no longer pay for flu shots every fall, an annual savings of $80.
And since we werent willing to accept a pharmacists decision on our health care, we just saved another $199.
