ASSAULT - WINTHROP - Massena-based state police charged Mark A. Joanette, 46, of Winthrop with third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief - preventing an emergency phone call for assistance and petit larceny following an investigation into a domestic dispute complaint made at 8:01 p.m. Monday from the town of Stockholm. Joanette was arraigned in local court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.



PETIT LARCENY - POTSDAM - Canton-based state police charged Michael J. Middlemiss, 24, of Potsdam with third-degree criminal tampering at 5:20 p.m. Monday stemming from a traffic stop on Route 56 in the town of Norfolk. Troopers said the charge stemmed from an investigation into a shoplifting complaint filed with troopers at 11:16 a.m. from the town of Potsdam.



CRUELTY TO ANIMALS - MASSENA - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Jessica D. Mousaw, 33, of 1448 Hazelton Road., Wilmington, with cruelty to animals Monday. Deputies said Mousaw allegedly left two cats behind when she was evicted from her state Route 420 home in Massena. The two cats were reportedly left without food and care for a minimum of three days. Mousaw was issued an appearance ticket for Massena Town Court.



HARASSMENT - PIERREPONT - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Cory S. Chambers, 23, of 23 Allen Road, Canton, with second-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief Monday evening stemming from an investigation into a domestic dispute that took place at that address. He was arraigned by town of Pierrepont Justice Robert Camp and released on his own recognizance to reappear in Pierrepont Town Court at a later date.



CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - POTSDAM - Village police charged Alicia M. LaRue, 25, of Potsdam with fourth-degree criminal mischief - intent to damage property at 2:34 p.m. Monday on Lawrence Avenue. Police said they responded to a noise complaint and when they arrived on scene determined LaRue had broken a door and headphones during an argument.



BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police charged Sierra L. Smith, 23, of 276 Quinnell Road, Helena, with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and ticketed her for a stop sign violation at 9 p.m. Monday following a traffic stop near Howard Street at East Orvis. During the traffic stop, it was found that a bench warrant had been issued for Smith’s arrest by the Bombay Town Court after she allegedly violated the terms of her release conditions on a charge pending that court. She was turned over to state police for transport to Franklin County to be arraigned on the bench warrant.



SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Bob V. Goodreau, 25, of state Route 420, Massena, for speed in zone at 7:50 p.m. Monday following a traffic stop on East Hatfield Street.



BRAKE LIGHT - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Patricia D. Peets, 58, of Paddock Street, Massena, for operation of a vehicle with inadequate brake lights at 3:37 p.m. Monday following a traffic stop on South Raquette Road.



STOP SIGN - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Richard J. Frederick, 60, of South Grasse River Road, Massena, for a stop sign violation at 9:49 a.m. Monday following a traffic stop on Alvern Avenue.



UNLICENSED OPERATION - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Brian J. Snyder, 27, of Brasher Falls for unlicensed operation at 9:56 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 37.



SPEED IN ZONE - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Sharon S. Efthimiou, no age available, of Cornwall, Ont., for speed in zone at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 37.



AGGRAVATED DWI - WADDINGTON - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Corey A. Brown, 34, of 933 Leray St., Watertown, with felony counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operation of a vehicle without the required interlock ignition device following a prior DWI conviction and ticketed him for failure to keep right following a traffic stop at 1:48 a.m. Saturday on state Route 37 in the town of Waddington. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.24 percent, three times the 0.08 percent BAC that constitutes a DWI charge. He was arraigned in Dekalb Town Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $4,000 cash.



PETIT THEFT - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Jonathan P. Sager, 29, of Moira with petit theft and unlawful possession of marihuana at 5:58 a.m. Aug. 1. He was also arraigned in Bombay Town Court for an outstanding bench warrant and was released on his own recognizance.



AUO - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Angela M. Johnson, 37, of Hogansburg with second-degree unlicensed operation, operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver and failure to stop at a stop sign at 11:28 a.m. Aug. 1 following a traffic stop on state Route 37. She was issued citations to appear Tuesday in Bombay Town Court.



ARREST WARRANT - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police picked up Bruce D. House, 38, of Gouverneur at 12:52 p.m. Aug. 1 on an active warrant for issuing bad checks. He was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and was scheduled to reappear this week.



AGGRAVATED DWI - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Amanda L. Tarbell, 27, of Hogansburg with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated and speed in zone following a traffic stop at 5:15 a.m. Aug. 2. She was allegedly observed operating a vehicle at 50 mph in a posted 35 mph zone while northbound on Beaver Meadow Road. Police allege Tarbell’s blood alcohol content was 0.23 percent. She was released and will answer to the charges Tuesday in Bombay Town Court.



PASSING ON RIGHT - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Richard R. Barney of Constable for passing on the right following a traffic stop at 2:45 p.m. Aug. 2 after he was allegedly observed passing two vehicles on the right while eastbound on state Route 37. He was issued a tribal citation to appear this week in Tribal Court.



SPEEDING - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Aaron J. Cummings, 20, of Fort Covington for speed in zone and unlicensed operation following a traffic stop at 8:22 p.m. Aug. 2 after he was allegedly observed operating a vehicle at 71 mph in a posted 55 mph zone while eastbound. He was issued tribal citations to appear Monday in Tribal Court.



INADEQUATE HEADLIGHTS - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Elizabeth V. Szivos, 45, of Bombay for inadequate headlights at 9:16 p.m. Aug. 2 after she was allegedly observed operating a vehicle with a burnt headlight while eastbound state Route 37. She was issued a tribal citation to appear this week in Tribal Court.



INADEQUATE HEADLIGHTS - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Wilbur P. Barnes Jr., 41, of Akwesasne for inadequate headlights at 12:22 a.m. Aug. 3 after he was allegedly observed operating a vehicle with a burnt headlight while westbound on state 37. He was issued a tribal citation to appear in Tribal Court.



AGGRAVATED DWI - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Carl A. Chubb, 50, of Hogansburg with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with improper plates, operating a motor vehicle without financial security, inadequate headlights and operating an unregistered motor vehicle on a highway at 2:02 a.m. Aug. 3. Police allege Chubb’s alcohol content was 0.21 percent. He was released to appear in Bombay Town Court.



SPEEDING - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed David L. Tiedgen, 68, of Isle Lamotte, Vt., for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 7:42 a.m. Aug. 4 after he was allegedly observed operating a vehicle at 53 mph in a posted 35 mph zone while eastbound on state Route 37. He was issued a tribal citation to appear this week in Tribal Court.



SPEEDING - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Mahlon K. Smoke, 21, of Hogansburg for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 9:06 p.m. Aug. 4 after she was allegedly observed operating a vehicle at 61 mph in a posted 45 mph zone while eastbound on state Route 37. She was issued a tribal citation to appear in Tribal Court.



CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Noah M. Ransom IV, 17, and Jonathan L. Francis, 22, of Hogansburg with felony first-degree criminal mischief, fifth-degree arson, acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17, and second-degree criminal nuisance at 10:59 p.m. Aug. 4. They were arraigned in Bombay Town Court and released to probation, to reappear Sept. 10. Following the incident a juvenile male was charged with operating a motor vehicle by unlicensed driver.



FELONY DWI - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Jeremiah M. Steenberg 35, of Massena with felony driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, use of leaned vehicle without interlock device, operating a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver, following too closely and a license restriction violation at 4 a.m. Aug. 6. Police allege Steenberg’s blood alcohol content was 0.18 percent. He was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and released under the supervision of probation, to reapear this week.



MARIJUANA POSSESSION - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Bobbi Johnson, 17, of Nedrow with unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop at 7:11 p.m. Aug. 6 on state Route 95. She was issued citations to appear in Bombay Town Court.



INADEQUATE HEADLIGHTS - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Mary L. Newcombie, 40, of Chase Mills for inadequate headlights at 8:43 p.m. Aug. 7 after she was allegedly observed operating a vehicle with a burnt headlight while westbound on state Route 37. She was issued a tribal citation to appear this week in Tribal Court.



INADEQUATE HEADLAMPS - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Starlyn N. Mitchell, 20, of Hogansburg for operation of a vehicle with inadequate headlights at 10:20 a.m. Aug. 8 following a traffic stop on state Route 37. She was issued a citation to appear in Bombay Town Court.



ARREST WARRANT - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Tribal Police picked up Roger D. Jorgensen, 45, of Hogansburg at 2:40 p.m. Aug. 8 for an active arrest warrant. He was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and sent to the Franklin County Jail with bail set at $500 cash or $1,000 bond.



AUO - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Denise L. Cook, 30, of Fort Covington with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and operating a motor vehicle without inspection certificate at 10:41 p.m. Aug. 8 on state Route 37 following a stop at a checkpoint. She was issued citations to appear in Bombay Town Court.



INADEQUATE HEADLIGHTS - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Krista L. Lauzon, 23, of Fort Covington for inadequate headlights at 10:46 p.m. Aug. 8 on state Route 37 following a stop at a checkpoint. She was issued a tribal citation to appear Sept. 9 in Tribal Court.



UNINSPECTED VEHICLE - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Danielle M. Lauzon, 31, of Massena for an expired inspection at 10:26 p.m. Aug. 8 on state Route 37 following a stop at a checkpoint. She was issued a tribal citation to appear Sept. 9 in Tribal Court.

BENCH WARRANT - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police picked up Nathan S. Barnes, 24, of Hogansburg at 3:41 a.m. Aug. 9 for an unspecified outstanding bench warrant from Massena-based state police. He was turned over to state police.

DWI - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Barbra A. Thompson, 46, of Hogansburg with driving while intoxicated, operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more and failure to keep right following a traffic stop at

3:07 a.m. Aug. 10. Police allege Thompson’s blood alcohol content was 0.11 percent. She was released to answer the charges Sept. 3 in Bombay Town Court.

Lafrance, 48, of Hogansburg for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 7:33 a.m. Aug. 10 after he was allegedly observed operating a vehicle at 71 mph in a posted 55 mph zone while eastbound on state Route 37. He was issued a tribal citation to appear in Tribal Court.

DWI - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Scott E. Duciaume Jr., 24, of Massena with driving while intoxicated, operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more and unregistered trailer following a traffic stop at

8:01 p.m. Aug. 10. Police allege Duciaume’s blood alcohol content of 0.09 percent. He was released to answer the charges Sept. 3 in Bombay Town Court.

Wong, 57, of Montreal, Que., for speed in zone and unlicensed operation following a traffic stop at 12:22 a.m. Aug. 11 after she was allegedly observed operating a vehicle at 55 mph in a posted 35 mph zone while eastbound on state Route 37. She was issued a tribal citation to appear Sept. 2 in Tribal Court.



UNREGISTERED VEHICLE - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Karine Lessard, 39, of Quebec for an unregistered vehicle following a traffic stop at 2:02 a.m. Aug. 12 after she was allegedly observed operating a vehicle with no headlights while westbound on state Route 37. DISORDERLY CONDUCT - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Michael P. Mitchell, 37, of Hogansburg with disorderly conduct at 2:09 a.m. Aug. 12 after they responded to an unwanted person who became combative. He will answer the charge Sept. 10 in Bombay Town Court.

Bonaparte, 22, of Nice, Calif., for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 3:46 p.m. Saturday after she was allegedly observed operating a vehicle at 63 mph in a posted 35 mph zone while northbound on St. Regis Road. She was issued a tribal citation to appear Sept. 9 in Tribal Court.



SPEEDING - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Timothy P. Herne, 48, of Rooseveltown for speed in zone following a traffic stop at 5:11 p.m. Saturday after he was allegedly observed operating a vehicle at 55 mph in a posted 35 mph zone while northbound on Cook Road. He was issued a tribal citation to appear Sept. 2 in Tribal Court.



FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police ticketed Jamie L. Lewis, 36, of Massena for following too closely at 4:16 p.m. Saturday following a property damage accident. She was issued a tribal citation to appear Sept. 9 in Tribal Court.



DWI - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Trevor M. Jones, 25, of Malone with driving while intoxicated, operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or more and improper right turn on Saturday. Police allege Jones’s blood alcohol content was 0.19 percent. He was released to answer the charges Sept. 10 in Bombay Town Court.



AGGRAVATED DWI - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police charged Lance M. Mitchell, 33, of Akwesasne, Que., with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation at 12:12 a.m. Sunday. Police allege Mitchell’s blood alcohol content was 0.29 percent. He was released to the charges Sept. 10 in Bombay Town Court.

She was issued a tribal citation to appear Sept. 2 in Tribal Court.

OBSTRUCTION - AKWESASNE - St. Regis Mohawk Tribal police charged Michelle A.E. David, 27, of Hogansburg with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration and endangering the welfare of a child at 10:50 p.m. Sunday. She will answer the charges Sept. 10 in Bombay Town Court.
