New York state now has hundreds of fall-semester internships available, and college students are reminded to apply by the application deadline of Sept. 3.
The state has launched a website, www.nysinternships.com, which allows students to view and apply for internships offered by a variety of state agencies located upstate and downstate. The website is part of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomos New New York Leaders Initiative aimed at attracting new talent to state government through internship and fellowship programs. By visiting the website, applicants may view job descriptions, create profiles and upload resumes, writing samples and letters of recommendation. Multiple internships may be applied for.
The program is open to undergraduate and resident-graduate students, along with students who attend schools in other states but reside in New York. Opportunities include paid and unpaid positions, and internships may include academic credit, depending on policies of educational institutions.
