SYRACUSE The Syracuse University mens basketball teams first league game as an Atlantic Coast Conference member will take place against defending ACC champion Miami on Jan. 4 at the Carrier Dome.
SU released its first ACC schedule on Thursday, also announcing 11 nationally televised games, including six at home.
The Orange will play nine ACC games at home against Miami, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Duke, Notre Dame, Clemson, North Carolina State, Boston College and Georgia Tech. Syracuses Feb. 1 meeting with Duke was previously announced as an ESPN College GameDay game. Syracuse will also play ESPN Big Monday games against Notre Dame on Feb. 3 and at Maryland on Feb. 24.
Syracuse faces North Carolina in the Carrier Dome on Jan. 11 and plays old Big East foes Pittsburgh (Jan. 18) and Boston College (Feb. 19) at the Dome. SUs last league home date is against Georgia Tech on March 4. The Orange concludes the regular season with a March 9 game at Florida State. The ACC Tournament begins March 13 in Greensboro, N.C.
SUs first ACC road game is at Virginia Tech on Jan. 7. Other road ACC games for SU are at Boston College, Miami, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, Duke, Maryland and Virginia.
CBS will televise SUs game at Miami in Jan. 25. CBS will also televise SUs nonconference game against Villanova on Dec. 28 at the Carrier Dome.
Syracuse begins its season with a non-conference game against Cornell on Nov. 8 at the Carrier Dome. The Orange will play Indiana as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Dec. 3 at the Carrier Dome and has a nonconference game against St. Johns on Dec. 15 at Madison Square Garden.
SUs first exhibition game of the season is Nov. 1 against Holy Family at the Carrier Dome.

nFor the second straight night, Syracuse raced out to a big lead while holding Bishops scoreless for more than eight minutes to begin the contest en route to a 77-35 win over the Gaiters at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt.
Freshman forward B.J. Johnson led all scorers with 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Redshirt sophomore Trevor Cooney went 3-of-4 from 3-point land on his way to 13 points. Sophomore Jerami Grant recorded 10 points and eight rebounds, while Tyler Ennis added nine points.
The Orange picked up right where it left off Wednesday, scoring the first 20 points of the game before Bishops hit a 3 to get on the board with only 1:38 left in the first quarter. Cooney scored eight straight points during the run.
Syracuse resumes its Canadian tour in Ottawa with an exhibition against Carleton at Scotia Bank Arena tonight at 7:30.
