AKWESASNE Arrow White, age and address not available, was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court, Syracuse, to two years in prison for his role in a conspiracy to distribute marijuana.
He also was ordered to undergo an additional four years of supervision upon his release from prison after an April 13 guilty plea to conspiring to knowingly and intentionally possess marijuana with the intent to distribute the drug.
According to a plea agreement filed with the court, White admitted that he delivered marijuana from the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation to two unspecified residences in Ogdensburg. He further admitted that he supplied three unidentified people with more than 100 kilograms of marijuana from 2010 to July 2012. On other occasions, he drove a lookout car while an unidentified person transported marijuana in a separate vehicle, according to the agreement.
Sentencing Judge Glenn T. Suddaby recommended that White be placed in a substance abuse rehabilitation program while in prison and that he serve his sentence as close to home as possible.
