NNY Bassmasters hold two tourneys


Members of the Northern New York Bassmasters Club enjoyed a busy weekend on the water.

On Sunday the Federated NNY Bassmasters Club combined with the NNY Junior Bassmasters Club for a tournament on the St. Lawrence River.

On Saturday the NNYBC Team Tournament Trail visited Cranberry Lake.


The federated NNYB Club and the NNYB Juniors club combined together for a tournament out of Ogdensburg on the St. Lawrence River. The Adult anglers and junior anglers competed in separate divisions. All adults fished with at least one junior angler.

John Johnson led the juniors with a 19.40-pound bag followed by Chandler Barney with 19.35 lbs, Joey Kiah with 18.56 lbs ,

Austyn Chase with 17.30 lbs and Damien Vanornum with 13.31 lbs

Brad Paradis of Ogdensburg led the Adult Division with 20.15 lbs followed by Chris Flint of Potsdam with 19.67 lbs, Steve Garrabrant of Ogdensburg with 17.81 lbs,Fred Morrill of DeKalb Junction with 17.25 lbs and lunker of the day and Corey Palmer of Ogdensburg with 16.25 lbs


The Northern NY Bassmasters Team Trail held it’s sixth regular season event at Cranberry Lake after heavy fog delayed the take off by about an hour.

Anglers were able to successfully tackle the lakes largemouth and smallmouth population with with some good bags.

The winning team was James Moore and Doug Kirkbride with a mixed bag of smallmouth and largemouth for 14.64 lbs.

Richard Garlock (Alex Bay) and Bob Marceau (Ogdensburg) took second with 14.41 lbs followed by Tyler Capella and Carrie Capella (Canton) with 14.24 lbs, Chuck Roach and Chris Roach (Heuvelton) with 13.95 lbs and Brad Paradis and Robert Paradis (Ogdensburg) with13.42 lbs.

The club will hold the last tournament of the regular season at Lake Ontario - Henderson Harbor on September 7th.

Season’s Point Leaders: 1 Paradis, Paradis 1174, 2 Roach, Roach 1161, 3 Morill, Morgan 1153, 4 Capella, Capella 1152, 5 Garlock, Marceau 1149.
