LAKE PLACID — Bishop Terry R. LaValley, Diocese of Ogdensburg, recently announced that Pope Francis’s personal representative to the nation will be principal celebrant at a diocesan Solemn Mass for the Year of Faith at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Olympic Center, 2634 Main St.

Bishop LaValley will serve as homilist for the Mass, and Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, apostolic nuncio to the nation, will preside alongside the bishop.

About 2,000 Catholics are expected to attend, and a diocesan choir of 300 is expected to sing.

According to the news release, bus transportation to Lake Placid will be available from communities throughout the diocese.

Registration may be made through parishes.
