POTSDAM — The town is considering following the adage “two heads are better than one” for code enforcement.

For much of 2013, the town has had what Supervisor Marie C. Regan calls “one and a half” code enforcement officers. James A. Plumley, 69, is the primary code enforcement officer, and Michael D. Boysuk works part-time.

“Mike Boysuk has been the assistant code enforcement technician, and he’s been taking courses towards being a code enforcement officer,” Ms. Regan said. “He finished his last course. The next week he took the test, scored highest in the county with a 90. I’ve very pleased and proud for him.”

She said the budget doesn’t include a raise for Mr. Boysuk, but the town could give him the title of code enforcement officer. It also could wait until 2014 to appoint him and include a salary increase in the next budget.

Ms. Regan said Mr. Boysuk should have the title sooner rather than later.
