Sackets Harbor Clifta J. Phillips, 63, of E. Washington St., Sackets Harbor, died Friday at the Hospice Residence at the Ellis Farm in Watertown.
Clifta was born January 11, 1950 in Watertown, NY to Clifford and Catherine (Robarge) Hamilton. She graduated from Mannsville Manor Central School in June 24, 1968. Clifta completed the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Jefferson Vocational Technical Center, August 27, 1968 and became a Certified Surgical Technician in 1974. She worked at Mercy Hospital for over 20 years and later for Med Ready Urgent Care in Watertown. Clifta retired from Watertown Orthopedic Group in January of 2012 but continued to work part time. She committed her life to caring for all who needed it.
She married Frank Phillips May 18, 2007 in Camden, NY. Clifta enjoyed four wheeling, hunting, camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Surviving besides her husband Frank are two sons Matthew J. (Stephanie) Youngs, Washington, DC, Jessie R. (Ami), Baltimore, MD, two brothers Jeffery Hamilton and Mark Hamilton, step children Michelle (Carl) Perkins, KY, Rene (Dusty) Rawlings, OH, John (Suzanne) Phillips, MD, Morgan (Phillip) Koster, VA, thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.. Her son William M. Youngs, step daughter Sarah Phillips and two brothers William Hamilton and Terry Hamilton died before her.
The Funeral Service will be Tuesday September 3, 2013 6:00pm at the Carpenter Stoodley Funeral Home. Calling Hours will be Tuesday from 4:00pm – 6:00pm prior to the service. Burial will be at the familys convenience at Rural Cemetery, Adams, NY.
