Remington II caps SLV Paddlers racing season

HEUVELTON - “I think everyone had a good race and a fun race as water levels were up from last year and a little rain helped keep people cool” said race director Allen Kelly about Saturday’s paddle race from Rensselaer Falls to Heuvelton.

The annual event, known as The Remington II, saw veteran paddle racers as well as casual paddlers compete in various classes.

“We have some great rivers to paddle on and paddling is a wonderful fitness activity to complement other more leg oriented sports” said Kelly.

The season for the sponsoring organization, St. Lawrence Valley Paddlers, will conclude with the End of Year banquet and Tri-a-Tri on Saturday September 14th, at the Madrid Community Center at 1 pm.

The Tri a Tri is a one mile run, then a 1 mile canoe/kayak paddle and a 1 mile mountain bike ride to finish.
