Meet the candidates nights set for Thursday


The public will have a chance on Thursday night to learn more about the six Watertown City Council candidates running in next Tuesday’s primary.

The Italian-American Civic Association is hosting a meet the candidates night at 7 p.m. Thursday at the club, 192 Bellew Ave. Spectators are encouraged to submit questions before the event.

The moderator will be WATN radio host Glenn Curry.

Four political newcomers are challenging incumbents Teresa R. Macaluso and Jeffrey M. Smith. They are Jasmine W. Borreggine, Stephen A. Jennings, Cody J. Horbacz and Rodney J. LaFave.

The top four candidates in the primary Sept. 10 will move on to the general election Nov. 5. The offices are nonpartisan; any registered voter may participate in the primary.
