Lisbon rebounds from championship setback

LISBON - It was a fresh start from a 1-0 tournament championship game loss to OFA, for Lisbon Central, which downed Hermon-DeKalb 6-0 in the NAC West Division Boys Soccer on Wednesday.

“We had some opportunities that we didn’t finish but we got some nice play out of our reserves today,” said LCS coach Bill Reed who cited the play of Jake Pellerin, Donnie Duprey, and Logan Matthews.

“And Josh Lampett did a great job in his first start as a eighth grader.”

Jimmy Robinson was called on to make just one save in net for the Knights who had a 25-1 shot advantage and took a 2-0 halftime lead. Adam Kelley scored off Josh Lampett’s cross from the rightside in the 18th minute and Reilly Alberto netted a goal in the 40th minute from Coleman Smith.

Kelley scored in the 42nd minute unassisted and Lampett connected unassisted in the 58th. Kane Jordan and Kody Allen scored in the 62nd and 64th minute with Allen assisting.

Ryan Matthews had 15 saves for Hermon-DeKalb.

Peru 2, Malone 1: Ethan Brown scored in the 69th minute to lead the Indians past Malone in a nonleague game in Peru. It was the opener for the Huskies. Jacob Dick also scored for Peru. Isai Paredones scored for Malone.
