Motorists charged with DWI


Christopher M. Streit, 26, of 145 Selleck Road, Canton, was charged by state police with driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and moving from lane unsafely at 6 p.m. Sunday after his vehicle went off the road and hit a light pole, police said.

Police said he lost control of his vehicle, which hit a guardrail and the light pole, on Route 68 in Canton.

His license had been suspended for a previous DWI charge, they said.

His blood alcohol content was 0.17 percent, police said. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law.

Also charged with DWI and related offenses:

n Justin D. Townsend, 22, of 6887 Route 11, Adams, was charged by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies with aggravated DWI about 3 a.m. Sunday on Route 232. His BAC was 0.20 percent, police said. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or higher.

n John M. Merideth, 34, of 17747 Route 11, Watertown, also was charged by state police about 12:30 a.m. Aug. 28 with driving without a license, speeding, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and using a motor vehicle without an interlock device. His BAC was 0.15 percent, police said.

n Kenneth A. Townshend, 20, of 1504 Hailesboro St., Gouverneur, was charged by state police at 10:08 p.m. Sunday on Route 11 in the town of LeRay. His BAC was 0.10 percent, police said.

n Edward Pasalacqua III, 28, of 9325 Pinckney Drive, Watertown, was charged about 6:15 p.m. Monday by state police on Route 26 in the town of Champion after he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a parked car. His BAC was 0.11 percent, police said.

nDavid J. Gilbo, 29, of 611 Fulton Road, Lisbon, was charged by state police Saturday night after he was stopped for allegedly speeding on Route 37 in the town of Lisbon. Police said his BAC was 0.10 percent.

n Travis M. Pashow, 26, of 27649 Route 126, Watertown, was charged by state police at 4:35 a.m. Monday at Ball and Staplin roads, town of Rutland. His BAC was not listed by police.

n Tony J. Cameron, 20, of 10124 4th Armored Division Drive, Fort Drum, was charged by state police at 5:05 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 81 in the town of Ellisburg.

His BAC was listed as 0.07 percent.
