MARTINSBURG Lewis County Court will hold its annual session at the countys first courthouse today.
The session will begin at 9:15 a.m. in the old Martinsburg Town Hall on Route 26. Judge Daniel R. King will preside over 10 cases during the morning calendar, and Keith A. Lyndaker, Judge Kings court attorney, will give a short speech.
Since 2001, a session of County Court has been held annually on the second floor of Town Hall, which was built in 1812 and served as the county courthouse until the county seat was moved from Martinsburg to Lowville in 1863.
An afternoon court session will be held in the third-floor courtroom in Lowville.
