Dr. Vora, hospital foundation to host Everest film

Dr. Manoj R. Vora of Lowville will host two showings of a movie he filmed during his conquest of Mount Everest.

On May 21, Dr. Vora made it to the top of Everest. He is one of the few who have climbed the “Seven Summits” — the highest points on each of the Earth’s seven continents.

“Everest 2013 a Film By Dr. Monaj Vora,” will be presented for free by the Lewis County Hospital Foundation at 2 p.m. Sept. 28 and Oct. 5 at Lowville Town Hall Theater, 5248 Shady Ave.

The 1-hour film covers the Everest expedition from arrival in Kathmandu to about 10 minutes of footage on the summit.

“Your support helped me get to the top of the world,” Dr. Vora said in a recent Twitter feed. “Let me show you my appreciation now.”
