Jennie E. Hulbert


LOWVILLE- Jennie E. Hulbert, 93, formerly of Steepleview Courts, Croghan, died Saturday afternoon, September 7, 2013 at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility, where she has resided since March, 2008.

The funeral will be at Noon on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, Retired Methodist Minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Beaches Bridge Cemetery. Calling hours are from 10:00-Noon, prior to the funeral, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Croghan Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance, P.O. Box 405, Croghan, NY 13327.

Jennie is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marjorie Dotterrer of Bradenton, FL, June and Cecil Allen of Lowville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by three sisters, Dorothy Osterhaudt, Jessie Moyer, and Norma Yoder.

Jennie was born on October 5, 1919 in the town of Denmark, NY, a daughter of the late Leon and Ella McGivney Hays. She attended rural school and Copenhagen School. A marriage to Lyle Wright ended in divorce. She married Anson Hulbert in October 1955. He died in February, 1998. She worked for Climax Manufacturing for 25 years, retiring in 1975, as an office assistant.

She was a charter and life member of the Lewis County Memorial Post #6912 Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and embroidery.
