CARTHAGE – Joyce Marilyn Rogers, 71, 600 S. Washington St., #88, died Monday evening, September 9, 2013 at the Hospice House of Jefferson County in Watertown.

Born in Great Bend on March 14, 1942, the daughter of Carl Jones & Evelyn Stevens Jones. She graduated from Carthage Central High School. She married Robert Earl Rogers on July 27, 1963 at the former Nazarene Church on Spring St. in Carthage. She was employed at the former West Side Diner in West Carthage and also the Quick Lunch in Great Bend. She was primarily a homemaker.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by her husband, Bob, at home and her children and spouses; Rhonda & Charles Monaghan, Carthage, Tina & Tim Susice, Pearland, TX, Bobie & Kent Hausner, Saranac Lake, Lisa & Don Bristlin, Aberdeen, MD and Cindy & Gregory Jones, Grimesland, NC. Also surviving are her siblings and spouses; Bertha & Brian McGiffert, San Jose, CA, Paula & Bill Carpenter, Albrightsville, PA, Jack & Marion Stevenson, Lowville, and Karl (Sonny) Stevenson, Sackets Harbor, her grandchildren; Johnny and his wife, Rachel, Jennifer and her husband, Dustin, Jamie, Rockie, Dillon, Shantel, Shawna, Shannel, Shania, Brandon, Chuckie and Kaitlyn and her great grandchildren, Jhazmyn, Christian, Sierra, Dylan, Steven, Carter and Serena “Fluff”.

She is predeceased by her parents, her siblings; Dennis Stevenson, Robert Stevenson and Janice Guadalupe and her grandson, Tony Bristlin.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, with her son in law, the Rev. Gregory George Jones, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage. Visitation will be held on Thursday, prior to the funeral from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
