The July 22 death of a Swan Road man, killed during a fight at his home, remains an open case, a Jefferson County sheriffs detective said Wednesday.
In July, the sheriffs department said Philip R. Pickett, 33, of 22834 Swan Road, died from injuries sustained during an altercation. An arrest has not been made, but investigators interviewed a person of interest a few days later.
Detective David J. Pustizzi said he expects the case will go to a grand jury next month.
Thats all I can say right now, he said.
Mr. Pickett lived in the residence, owned by his parents, Robert J. and Terri J. Pickett. At the time, the sheriffs department said neighbors were not in danger.
Family members have declined to comment.
