Canton woman crashes car into side of house (VIDEO)


CANTON — A Canton woman crashed her car Friday morning into the side of a home next to NBT Bank on Park Place.

Kathy Curro, 68, State Street, retired principal of Canton Central Banford Elementary School, was treated by Canton Rescue Squad after her BMW ran into the side of the 7 Park Place home of Grant J. Currie.

Dale W. Gardner of Canton Rescue said it was believed that Mrs. Curro accelerated out of a bank parking spot instead of applying the brake.

“She said she didn’t know what happened,” Mr. Gardner said.

“She said she couldn’t stop it and thinks she hit the accelerator instead of the brakes,” he said.

Mr. Currie was not home at the time of the accident and no injuries were reported.

The sounds of crumpling vinyl siding and the black BMW’s bumper were heard as the car was pulled from the house by Canton volunteer firefighters:
