Potsdam methodically downs OFA JVs

Scoring a touchdown in every quarter Potsdam outscored OFA 30-16 in junior varsity football action on Thursday at the Alton W. “Slim” Elliott Athletic Complex.

Action where the two teams combined to tally two-point conversions on five of six touchdowns. The Devils scored in the second and fourth quarter as Zach Barr caught as 60-yard touchdown pass from Adam Rickett and tallied on a 16-yard run.

Rickett passed to Connor Badlam for one conversion and Barr ran for the second conversion. Rickett completed 13 of 20 passes for 167 yards but OFA was limited to 46 yards on 20 rushing attempts by a physical Potsdam offense.

Badlam caught 10 passes for 99 yards, Barr caught two passes for 63 yards and Dallas Ashley caught one pass for five yards. Barr rushed for 52 yards on eight carries. James Gibson and Austin VanGorden combined for 15 and 11 tackles to lead the OFA defense which received a fumble recovery from Nathaniel Dufore (3 tackles).

Other tackle contributions came from: Ed Newcombe (2), Dallas Ashley (5), Zach Barr (5), Nate McCarney (3), Nick Valcour (1), Zach Worden (2), Jack Kelly (1), Kevin Joanette (2), Adam Rickett (2), Austin Chase (2), Avery Love (1), Allen Smithers (2), Connor Badlam (2), Cote Bidwell (3), Devin Thurman (2), Anthony Pope (4), Jordan Murdock (2), Pribble (2).

The 1-1 Blue Devils will host Malone on Thursday.
