MALONE - The Franklin Academy varsity volleyball team swept Salmon River 3-0 on Monday in NAC action.
The win by FA moved the squad to 4-0, as did the Chateaugay Bulldogs with a 3-0 sweep of the visiting Brushton-Moira Panthers.
FA 3, Salmon River 0: The host Lady Huskies won by scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-15.
Brooke Peck pace the Huskies with 15 service points and one ace as Rachel Lamica collected 10 points, seven which came via the ace.
Lamica led the FA play at the net with 11 kills while Aimee Fleury added five kills and three service points to the win.
Peck and Karissa Beaudry paced the green & white floor play with 10 assists each.
The setback drops Salmon River to 2-2 in league play. SRC had Wakie Mitchell and Taylin David serve up six and five points, respectively.
Chateaugay 3, B-M 0: In Chateaugay, the Bulldogs disposed of the BMC Panthers in three straight sets (25-11, 25-10, 25-12) to move to 4-0 on the season heading into Wednesdays first-round showdown against Malone.
Shelby Yanulavich paced the CCS girls with 10 services points, including three aces, as Caitlin Miller and Kylie Hanley served up nine points apiece. Hanley also had three aces while Kim Reville collected six points with half coming via the ace.
Hanley led the team with 12 assists as Yanulavich and Reville both had six kills. Miller made two blocks to help the Bulldogs in the victory.
