LISBON - Striker Ryan Vollmer redirected a deflection into the cords in the 62nd minute of the contest for Morristown in a 1-0 decision over previously NAC West Division Boys Soccer unbeaten Lisbon on Monday.
Morristown played very aggressively and beat us to a lot of balls. Luke King came up with a few nice stops but we didnt finish our opportunities and Morristown did once, said LCS coach Bill Reed.
King produced the shutout making eight saves for the 3-1 Rockets. Jimmy Robinson had five saves for the Knights (4-2, 3-1 NAC West).
In other NAC West Division play, Harrisville remained unbeaten at 5-0, 6-0 over downing (0-4-1, 0-3) Clifton-Fine 5-0, Hammond evened its mark to 2-2 with a 5-3 decision over Hermon-DeKalb (0-5, 0-3), and Edwards-Knox (3-2, 2-2) topped 1-3 Heuvelton 4-1.
Hammond 5, Hermon-DeKalb 3: The host Red Devils scored the final four goals.
Alex Folkesson tied the game at 3-3 in the in the 65th minute of the game unassisted and connected for the eventual game winner from Matt Martin in the 71st. John Winchester provided insurance in the 77th for the Red Devils.
Cameron Hance produced two first half goals from Jaron Robinson for H-D. In the 12th minute off a cornerkick in the 22nd. Brock Tulley scored unassisted in the 16th for Hammond.
Ryan Brown scored from Patrick Woodrow in the 45th for a 3-1 H-D lead and Hammonds Tristan Simons converted a penalty kick in the 51st to cut the deficit to 3-2.
Nick Jewitt and Simons made a combined five saves for Hammond. Reilly ODonnell stopped 14 shots for H-D.
Edwards-Knox 4, Heuvelton 1: The Cougars scored the first four goals in the game - three in the first half.
Nick Davis scored from Abe White in the 17th minute and just 49 seconds later Dylon Jeanette connected from Hunter Tuttle. Derrick Clark made it 3-0 from Tuttle in the 34th.
After intermission, Davis scored his second goal in the 53rd from Clarke.
Joe McDonnell connected from Will Tennant in the 62nd minute for Heuveltons lone goal.
Kaden Dandrow and Richard Finnerty shared the E-K crease duties with seven saves. Zach Lashomb stopped seven shots for Heuvelton.
Harrisville 5, C-F 0: Jared Dreythaler scored two goals and Tim Fowler, Brennan Best, and Nathan Atkinson each produced a singleton leading the host Pirates. Tyler Sales produced two assists and shared the crease withe Zane Mono (four saves) and Nathan Weaver collected three assists.
Jordan Planty stopped 10 shots for C-F.
