SLU’s O’Neil named top LL golfer of the week


St. Lawrence University’s Claire O’Neil was named the Liberty League women’s golf performer of the week after tying for first at the New York University Invitational last weekend.

O’Neil, a sophomore, was declared co-champion after shooting rounds of 75 and 73 for a collegiate best two-day total of 148. Her one-over-par 72 was her best collegiate round.

n SUNY Potsdam volleyball player Sara Anderson was named the SUNYAC player of the week after her performance at the RIT Invitational.

Anderson, a senior, totaled 49 kills and nine blocks in four games to lead the Bears to a 2-2 mark. She registered 10 kills against the University of Rochester and 13 against Medaille on Friday and followed it up with 11 against RIT and a season-high 15 against SUNY Brockport on Saturday.

Anderson was also named to the all-tournament team.
