The Canton Central varsity girls swim team opened the 2013 NAC season with a 64-30 decision on the road over St. Lawrence Central while Potsdam Central evened its record to 1-1 with a win at home over Salmon River.
In Brasher Falls, the Lady Bears scored wins in 10 of the 11 events.
Dasha LaPoint (50 free, 100 butterfly) and Angelina Domena (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle) anchored the Canton effort with two wins apiece.
Alex Craft led the 100 breaststroke in 1:22 to account for the lone first-place points of the meet for the Lady Larries (1-1).
Potsdam over Salmon River: At the Clarkson University pool, Emma Visser logged wins in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle in helping to lead the Lady Sandstoners to the win. Ariana Frascatore won the 200 freestyle and Emma Kroll paced the 200 IM. The quartet of Amanda Dillon, Alexis Peterson, Cristy Stoian and Marissa Brown combined to win the 200 medley relay.
Caroline Russell highlighted the Salmon River effort with a win in the 100 butterfly.
