Canton native and St. Lawrence University graduate Kyle Flanagan has been assigned by Philadelphia to the Flyers American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms.
Flanagan attended the Flyers training camp at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and was one of 24 players to be assigned to the Phantoms this week.
Adirondacks AHL training camp opens on Monday in Glens Falls.
Flanagan, who was selected as a Hobey Baker Award finalist and an All-American after his senior season with the Saints, signed a two-way contract for the 2013-14 season with Philadelphia in March and was assigned to Adirondack on an amateur tryout deal.
The forward posted seven points, including a goal, along with four penalty minutes in 13 games with the Phantoms last season.
Interestingly enough, the Flyers training camp has shifted to Lake Placid through Sunday.
The ECAC Hockey championship will return to Lake Placid next March.
