The Army on Friday released new video of Capt. William D. Swenson, who was chosen recently for the Medal of Honor, during the September 2009 battle for which he is being recognized.
The video shows Capt. Swenson, without his helmet, helping to direct a medical helicopter to evacuate a critically injured soldier from the battle.
It was filmed by two members of the medical helicopter crew. The video was released by the widow of the soldier, who died days after the battle.
Capt. Swenson was attached to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division as an embedded trainer at the time of the battle.
