CANTON Two women pleaded guilty to reduced charges Monday in St. Lawrence County Court.
Kathleen M. Morgan, 29, of 88 Cougar Point, Massena, was charged with stealing handguns from homes last summer. She pleaded guilty to the reduced count of second-degree attempted burglary, a class D felony.
On Aug. 31 and Sept. 5, 2012, Mrs. Morgan allegedly stole four handguns from homes in the town of Norfolk.
She originally was facing two counts of second-degree burglary, four counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property worth more than $1,000 and four counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies.
State police Investigator Darin C. Chartrand said he did not know the exact value of the guns at the time of the arrest,
Mrs. Morgan is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 6.
Katsitsia Smoke, 19, of 15 Cree Road, Hogansburg, pleaded guilty to the reduced count of second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class E felony.
She originally was charged with criminal possession of marijuana, a class C felony,
Ms. Smoke was arrested Oct. 26 in the town of Morristown with Tehya L. Wensauer, 34, of Greene, Chenango County, after police found them in possession of 17 pounds of marijuana.
Ms. Smoke is scheduled for sentencing Nov. 8.
