Zombie Run will benefit Boys & Girls Club of Massena

MASSENA - Don’t miss the first Zombie Run to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Massena. Slated for the weekend before Halloween – on Oct. 26 – this 5K (or optional 2.5K) will pit humans against zombie swarms on the John Story Trail, located on the campus of Massena Central School.

Each runner wears a flag football-style belt with three “Health Flags.” Make it past the Zombies with at least one of your Health Flags left to survive. If the zombies take all of your flags, you’ll finish “undead.”

Your mission at this run is not speed, it’s to out-smart and out-maneuver the Zombies to reach the end safely with health flags left.

Participants will receive a “Great Futures Start Here” Boys & Girls Club wristband — to boast about your skills as an Apocalypse legend and show your support for this great cause. Post-race refreshments will also be provided.

The fate of the human population rests in your hands. Will there be any survivors left, or will the Zombie masses take over the world? There’s only one way to find out. Join us for this fun event and help save humankind.

Boys & Girls Club of Massena is dedicated to ensuring that our community’s young people, who are most in need of our help, have greater access to quality programs and services that help them succeed academically, live healthy lifestyles and become leaders.

With a goal of opening its doors in May 2014, the Boys & Girls Club of Massena will provide children with a positive place to go, results-oriented programming and a professional staff to guide them.

A private, nonprofit organization, Boys & Girls Club of Massena ( will improve young lives as well as the communities that surround and support us. The organization’s success in serving those who need us depends upon the gracious support of private, corporate, individual and grant funding to fill the gap between very modest membership dues and operational expenses.
