POTSDAM — Eduardo Figueroa factored into a pair of goals to lead the SUNY Potsdam men’s soccer team to a 2-0 nonleague victory over Clarkson University on Sunday at Maxcy Turf Field.

Figueroa provided the assist to Stephen Auyer for a goal in the sixth minute for the Bears (6-3). Clarkson fell to 1-5.

Figueroa then scored on a penalty kick with 2 minutes, 23 seconds left to seal the victory.

MEN’S GOLF

WHELAN DEALIN’

St. Lawrence junior Jack Whelan shot a 74 to finish third overall at the Williams College Invitational at the par-71 Taconic Golf Club Championship. The Saints placed 19th out of 24 teams.

Whelan moved up eight spots on Sunday after firing a 75 on Saturday.

WOMEN’S GOLF

SAINTS FINISH NINTH

Claire O’Neil shot a team-high 168 to lead St. Lawrence to a ninth-place finish at this weekend’s Holyoke Invitational at the Orchards Golf Club in Massachusetts.

O’Neil shot 81 and 87 over two days to finish tied for 26th individually. The Saints finished with a 708 team score.

Williams College won the event with a score of 619.

FIELD HOCKEY

ST. LAWRENCE 3, MANHATTANVILLE 0

Samantha Habb and Carly Dziekan scored their first collegiate goals and the Saints snapped a three-game losing streak with a nonleague victory.

Senior Emma Berry added a goal for St. Lawrence (2-5).
