FORT COVINGTON - The Salmon River Central varsity girls volleyball team evened its record at 3-3 with an NAC sweep at home over Gouverneur on Monday.

Raven Oakes anchored the winning effort with 11 service points, including three aces, at the Lady Shamrocks took the sets by scores of 25-7, 25-16, 25-16. Brittany Brooks (2 aces) and Taylin David served up seven points each. Raylynn tallied six points and six assist while Twiiowisonte Laffin fashioned another five points.

The other two NAC volleyball matches staged on Monday ended in sweeps as well with Franklin Academy downing Madrid-Waddington 25-7, 25-16, 25-16 and OFA stopping Tupper Lake (25-19, 25-11, 25-17).

GIRLS SWIMMING

In the lone NAC varsity girls swim meet on Monday, OFA beat Salmon River 122-41. Caroline Russell was the leading individual scorer of the meet for the Lady Shamrocks, placing second in both the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
