Kelly L. Sova, program director for Youth Court of Jefferson County, was recognized Monday in Albany for her work with at-risk youths.
Mrs. Sova received the Innovation Award at a celebration of state Youth Courts at the James T. Foley Federal Courthouse for her work with the nationally recognized Why Try curriculum to help at-risk youths.
The event was hosted by Richard S. Hartunian, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of New York; Judge Judith S. Kaye, former state Court of Appeals judge; and Judge Bernard J. Malone Jr., former state Supreme Court, Appellate Division judge. The U.S. Attorneys Office, Northern District, the Special Committee on Youth Courts and the Association of New York State Youth Courts joined in the celebration.
