Two-truck accident In Madrid

A Scouts Canada leader stands at the scene of a two-truck accident he was involved in Friday afternoon at the four-corner intersection of County Route 14 and Outer Elm Street, Madrid. The crash left one vehicle on its side but no one in either vehicle was injured or required a hospital visit. The 2:20 p.m. crash was a low-speed collision, according to Madrid Volunteer Rescue Squad Chief Richard McDougall. “It appeared the Canadian vehicle struck the passenger side of the pickup which was occupied by two teens from the Madrid-Waddington area,” Chief McDougall said. The five occupants of the other vehicle were Canadian Scouts traveling from Ottawa to Lake Placid for a weekend of rock climbing, the chief said. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. State police and Madrid Volunteer Fire Department assisted. (Kimbler-Lago Photo)
