Perhaps someone can explain to me why a man who has been charged with 22 counts of animal cruelty in May has still not been brought to trial.
Now you can add the cruelty charge of having his dog die in his car on a very hot day while he goes to the state fair. The pictures of his emancipated horses should be evidence enough of his guilt.
I believe that St. Lawrence County is going to be close to the top of the list of places that do nothing about animal cruelty. I do give credit to our Sheriffs Department, but I give zilch to our judicial departments.
The headline in the Times on Sept. 19 announces that Mary Rain is going to run against our district attorney. I do not know Ms. Rain, but I hope that there will be a debate or at least a chance to question both candidates about animal cruelty and what plans they have to do something about it.
