CANTON – Megan Mydosh (Warwick, NY) of the women’s cross country team and Mike Reilly (Colton) of the men’s golf team have been tabbed by SUNY Canton Athletics Roos of the Week for the week ending Sept. 29th.

Mydosh finished in third place out of the 137 runner field at the SUNYIT Wildcat Classic. She covered the 5-kilometer course in 20:13 (6:31 mile pace), her fastest career run at that distance, breaking her previous best by an impressive 18 seconds. Mydosh was just two seconds behind the race winner, her closest time to winning an invitational this season. The junior was crucial in leading her team to a seventh place finish out of the 17 team field.

The women’s cross country team has this weekend off before returning to the trails Oct. 12th at the Hoffman Invitational hosted by St. Lawrence University.

Reilly had a remarkable week for SUNY Canton as he captured medalist honors at the 2013 SUNY Canton Invitational by winning a two hole playoff. After both Reilly and Potsdam’s John Hickey pared the first extra hole the senior drained a 15-foot birdie putt to put the pressure on Hickey who was unable to hole out his 8-foot birdie attempt. The Roos tied SUNY Potsdam for first as both teams recorded 321 strokes but the Bears earned the first place plaque based off their fifth golfer having a lower score.

Earlier in the week Reilly also finished second at the Elmira College Fall Invitational out of the 46-golfer field. In his third event of the week the Colton, NY native tied for fifth place individually as the Roos finished second out of the five team field.
